What is GEMNET ? It means Global Emergency Medical Net. It is an independent, global, multidisciplinary, apolitical and standardised trained network organisation. Who composes GEMNET ? All professionals involved in emergency and disasters are welcome. Emergency Physicians created first GEMNET, Doctors, Nurses, Rescuers, Engineers, Specialists in water, infectious diseases... climate, Geographers, Ecologists, Logisticians, Managers, International Lawyers, Economists... At present there is a steering committee consisted of 9 persons among whom 6 doctors. Its President founder is Ali AFDJEI M.D (Emergency Physician in Paris/France). Where is situated GEMNET ? GEMNET will have correspondants all around the world, mainly Emergency Physicians and involved disaster managers in each country, with links and direct coordination with local authorities. It will have his Headquarter in Geneva, with strong links of interagency. How it works ? At the disposal of NGO’s, United Nations, countries and local rescuers, since they ask for emergency assistance in case of natural disasters. GEMNET gives help to affected countries without any obligations or conditions in the extreme urgency. GEMNET provide help without prerequisite of anykind as an automatic response to natural disasters after quick efficient assessment. With strong local links between emergency workers, rescuers of each country, rapid global and local assessment provided by satelllite organisation, standardised training around year, GEMNET will provide efficient first aid within the critical and crucial 24 hours. It is an upstream, coordinated, thorough work with standardised online module training for each rescuers in disaster . Each country will have notified and authorized correspondants. The correspondents will be mobilizable within 24 hours. Correspondants and involved persons will be paid during their work (24/72 hours +- 48h) as all GEMNET team. To provide GEMNET’s independence, we mainly search for private financing and donations. What we need ? We need you all to spread and improve GEMNET worldwide for ever. We need you to join us. We need fundraising and partnership. We need companies and supporters in every country. We need political support to present GEMNET to United Nations and ask for an international Charter to be signed under the aegis of United Nations for absolute priority access in case of natural disasters, within the 24 hours, in respect of local culture and at the disposal of local rescuers.
